Witness Course for churches supporting asylum seekers and migrants
Churches seeking to support asylum seekers and immigrants through the legal process can access training from Transforming Communities Together. The Witness Course aims to empower church leaders and congregants in how to support people through the complex legal system.
The free course takes place on 16 September at St Peter’s (Church of England) Church in Walsall.
The workshop was written by Rev Chris Lane – previously an Asylum, Immigration and Human Rights barrister with 15 years experience. The Witness Course will offer guidance to empower churchers to help people in their communities. It will involve a mixture of learning styles, including up front teaching, case studies and group work.
