World Day of the Poor 2020 resources from CSAN
CSAN have published resources ahead of World Day of the Poor on Sunday 15 November 2020.
In marking the World Day of the Poor 2020, and mindful of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on older people, CSAN has focused on the richness of many years of life. Older people enrich our communities through their presence and their skills and experience. However, they are at risk of being excluded by a society that treats ageing as something to be feared.
CSAN and the Little Sisters of the Poor have published a short resource for individuals, local churches and groups. It includes a prayer, reflection and introduction to Catholic Social Teaching, and is available to download from the CSAN website.
During lockdown, many people became more aware of the isolation older people are at risk of. As lockdown begins to ease, there is an opportunity to reflect and learn from these experiences, so older people can enjoy new opportunities and feel a sense of belonging.
To find out more and to download the resource for yourself or your parish, go to www.csan.org.uk/worlddayofthepoor. CSAN’s website also features a section on Care in an Ageing Society, with resources on reaching out to older people.
